Terms of Service
Version 2026-07-19. Effective 19 July 2026.
1. What Solon is
Solon is a tool for recording why you own the investments you own, and for checking those stated reasons against public data over time. It is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("we"). By creating an account you agree to these terms.
2. Solon is not investment advice
This is the most important term here. We are not an investment adviser, a broker-dealer, or a financial planner, and we are not registered as any of those. Nothing in Solon is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, and nothing here is tailored to your financial situation, tax position, or goals.
The verdicts, grades, and scores Solon displays are mechanical outputs computed from claims and levels that you entered, compared against public data. A verdict is a restatement of your own stated rules, not our opinion on what you should do. The idea-discovery feature generates lists of companies matching a description you supply; that is a research starting point, not a suggestion that you buy anything.
No fiduciary or advisory relationship is created by your use of Solon. Every decision to trade is entirely yours. You should consider getting advice from a licensed professional before making investment decisions.
3. We never execute trades or touch your money
Solon cannot place orders, move funds, or connect to your brokerage account. It does not hold custody of any asset. Positions exist in Solon only because you typed them in or imported them from a file, and changing them in Solon changes nothing in the real world.
4. AI-generated content can be wrong
Solon uses automated language models to draft thesis text, summarize news, and answer questions about your portfolio. That output can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong, and it may misread your own notes back to you. Content that we have not verified is labeled as a draft in the interface. Treat all of it as a prompt to think, and verify anything you intend to act on against a primary source.
5. Market data
Prices, fundamentals, earnings dates, and news come from third-party providers. They may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect, and we do not independently verify them. Data is provided as-is for informational purposes and must not be relied on for trading decisions.
6. Your account
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, since sign-in runs through it. Tell us promptly at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
One account is for one person. Do not share credentials, resell access, scrape the service, attempt to reach another user's data, or use automated tools to place unusual load on it. Usage limits apply per account, and we may suspend accounts that abuse them.
7. Your content
The theses, notes, and positions you enter remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: storing that content, displaying it back to you, and sending the parts required to our processors (for example, a thesis sent to a model provider so it can be graded). We do not sell your content and we do not publish it.
The software, design, and interface are ours and may not be copied or resold.
8. Availability, changes, and ending your account
Solon is provided as-is, without any guarantee of uptime. Features can change or be removed. Scheduled checks depend on third-party data and may not run.
You can stop using Solon at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms.
9. Disclaimers and limits
To the fullest extent the law allows, Solon is provided without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of data or output. We are not liable for investment losses, lost profits, or decisions you make using this tool. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to [LIABILITY CAP, e.g. amounts you paid us in the prior 12 months].
Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we will ask you to accept the new version before you continue using Solon. Your acceptance is recorded against a version number and date.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / COUNTRY]. Questions go to [CONTACT EMAIL].
